Indians starter David Huff was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Alex Rodriguez but the Indians overcame a 9-3 deficit to record a 13-11 victory over the Yankees. The Yankees had all the ingredients for an easy win. They had a 9-3 lead over the Indians with C.C. Sabathia on the mound after four innings. Concerns On Chamberlain Are Legit

A visitor watched a game at Yankee Stadium this afternoon. It was his first visit to the new ballpark. It was quite an experience to say the least. It will never be forgotten. It started with Alex Rodriguez's line drive hitting David Huff's head. It was similar to couple of years ago when Nick Blackburn took a Bobby Abreu line drive off his face. The blood dripped all over Huff's face. As a result of that, Huff was taken to the hospital. The Indians sent Aaron Laffey to take Huff's place in ...

Analyzing Joe Girardi’s Bullpen Management in Yankees’ Loss To Indians

With one out in the top of the seventh inning, the New York Yankees led the Cleveland Indians 10-6. Austin Kearns had just singled in a run against David Robertson, who threw one more pitch before leaving the game with an undisclosed injury. Summoning Sergio Mitre, Joe Girardi made the proper move. His team led by four runs with eight remaining outs, and Mitre, formerly a starter, could potentially finish the game. After Mitre walked Jhonny Peralta, Cleveland manager Manny Acta made a move that would change the game. Acta sent Russell Branyan, ...

The hit caused both teams and a full stadium worth of fans to hush as Huff was tended to. He was loaded on to a stretcher and taken off the field. He gave the fans a thumbs up as he was carted off to a loud ovation. Huff was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center where ...

David Robertson Leaves Game with Back Injury

Yankees reliever David Robertson left today’s game in the middle of the 7th inning with what they’re calling a mild lower back strain. This injury is no doubt the result from a line drive that Twins catcher Joe Mauer hit Robertson in the back with last week. Initially Robertson said the Mauer’s line drive didn’t hurt him and that his belt had absorbed most of the impact, but in the middle of today’s game it must have tightened up on him. It doesn’t sound like this is going to land Robertson on ...
