Yankees Are Headed for Worse Fate Than Pre-2009 Offseason’s Spending Spree

class="ui-droppable">The New York Yankees are spending like it's 2009 all over again. Too bad they need the outcome to be the same for the payout to pay off.

Five offseasons ago, fresh off a playoff-less 2008, the Yankees went on a massive spree, signing stars CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira and A.J. Burnett for a total of $423.5 million.
