Ticket Prices to Derek Jeter’s Final Games Soar After He Announces Retirement

class="ui-droppable">New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter announced on Wednesday, Feb. 12, that the 2014 season would be his last in Major League Baseball. As you would expect, ticket prices for games near the end of his career soared quickly.

Jeter is a lock to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. The 39-year-old has spent his entire 19-year career in pinstripes, winning five World Series, including winning a World Series Most Valuable Player award. He also made 13 American League All-Star teams. He won many awards throughout his career, but being named the Yankees' captain in 2003 is what he will always be remembered for.
