1901   Former New York Yankees broadcasting announcer Arch McDonald (1940) was born (1901-1960). Arch McDonald was a longtime broadcaster for the Washington Senators (1934-1939, 1941-1959). He also broadcast games for the New York Yankees in1940. McDonald is remembered for his recreations. The Ol' Pine Tree died on a train coming home from a Washington Redskins-New York Giants game in New York.

1923   Former Yankees reserve catcher William “Dutch” Drescher (1944-1946) was born. Bill hit .266 in 57 games for the Yankees during 1944-1946 AL seasons.
