Only 1 More Start Necessary Before Andy Pettitte Can Return to New York Yankees

Pettitte had his longest start in his comeback attempt on Monday, tossing 96 pitches over 5.2 innings with Double-A Trenton.

He didn't see many positive results, though, as he allowed six runs on 10 hits. He did strike out eight in the contest.

This is not the first bad outing for Pettitte in his comeback attempt, which isn't necessarily a good sign for the New York Yankees. Minor-league results probably shouldn't be too big of a concern for the team at this point in his comeback, as he's still working his way back into playing shape.

The team's plan is to give Pettitte just one more start before he is ready to return on either May 10 or 11. He'll likely toss around the same number of pitches in that start as he did today.
