New York Yankees Trounce Baltimore Orioles Despite O’s Late Rally
I'm beat, so I'm going to go with bullet points on this one.
This wasn't as close as the 12-7 score appears. The Yanks jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two and a half. Then, after the O's cut the lead to 6-3, the Yanks sent 10 men to the plate in a six-run seventh to put the game away. The O's would score four more against Chad Gaudin, but the game was really never in doubt.
Phil Hughes was solid over six innings on his way to his 8th win of the season. The right-hander allowed three runs on nine hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out four.
