Due to the Alfredo Aceves back injury, Miranda was no called up, but instead OF Greg Golson was recalled. Don't know why that occurred, but since Alex Rodriguez is DH in the early game, it is conceivable that Miranda could still be recalled for the night game.
Since Aceves leaves teh Yankees with 12 pitchers, Kevin Russo would then be the likely player sent down if Miranda does get recalled for Game 2.
Left-handed first baseman/designated hitter Juan Miranda will be called up to the New York Yankees today, giving the team another lefty power bat for its lineup. Since the loss of Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui, coupled with the recent injuries to Curtis Granderson and Nick (DL) Johnson, the Yankees are short on left-handed bats.
