Yankees pitching staff has suffered a ton of injuries in 2011.
They can now add another big name to the disabled list.
Bartolo Colon, who has been a major surprise and been pitching so well for the Yankees, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring. Colon was 5-3 with a 3.10 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched before being put on the disabled list Sunday.
Colon originally started the season in the bullpen as a long reliever, but when Phil Hughes was placed on the disabled list back in April with shoulder inflammation, Colon was immediately put in the rotation and did the job.
