Like I said yesterday, they don't need a starting pitcher right now, and won't need one down the road unless they suffer some major injuries, so this is no surprise. He's also signed through 2012 (club option in '12) at $16 million per year, and that money would be better spent on a guy like Cliff Lee, who's a free agent after this season.
