New York Yankees: Despite Shaky Triple-A Outing, Andy Pettitte Is Ready

Pettitte hopes to rejoin the New York Yankees in the upcoming week. However, his Triple-A start on Sunday was shaky, at best.

Pettitte labored through five innings, throwing 95 pitches. He allowed eight hits, five runs (three earned), struck out five and walked two.

Although he started shakily, Pettitte retired the last six batters he faced.

The numbers were not impressive, but the fact that he threw back-to-back 90-plus-pitch outings is very encouraging. The Yankees are home this week to face the Tampa Bay Rays and the Seattle Mariners.

Yankees fans would love to see Pettitte's debut at Yankee Stadium, and it seems as though he would like to be up in the majors sooner rather than later.
