New York Yankees: Could Hideki Okajima Be Joining the Yankee Bullpen?

Red Sox relief pitcher Hideki Okajima, a 35-year-old Japanese import, has been designated for assignment, and if he does clear waivers, could find himself in the bullpen of the New York Yankees.

With the bizarre behavior, underwhelming performance and current disabled list stay of grossly overpaid closer turned setup man Rafael Soriano, adding another arm to the bullpen is not a bad idea for the Yankees. A little stability wouldn't hurt considering the constant Wilkes-Barre/Scranton shuttle for pitchers such as Lance Pendleton, Buddy Carlyle and Amauri Sanit.
