New York Yankees: Are Seattle Mariners GM’s Feelings Phony?

when you thought that nobody in Major League Baseball would ever feel bad for the New York Yankees, especially their injuries, Seattle Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik broke the mold.

Zduriencik's feelings were in regards to Michael Pineda's injury, according to Mike Mazzeo of ESPN.com:

"I feel bad for Brian, and I feel very bad for the Yankees," Zduriencik said prior to Friday night's Yankees-Mariners series opener at Yankee Stadium. "I wish this thing would've been a little different. But again, the fact that (Pineda)'s so young and he's strong, he should bounce back from this."

While I admire his optimism for the future of Pineda and his recovery, Zduriencik impresses me even more with his sympathy for "The Evil Empire."
