New York Yankees, intent on bolstering their pitching arsenal for the second half of the season, just acquired former National J.C. Romero signing him to a minor league deal, according to ESPN's Buster Olney (via Twitter).
It's interesting to note that Romero wanted out of the Washington Nationals system because they did not promote him to the MLB level. In signing with the Yankees, Romero heads right back to the minors, but the Yankees are in contention which for him is an upside.
The Yankees, desperately seeking left-handed help for their bullpen, are also scouting the Nationals left hander Sean Burnett.
