class="ui-droppable">Looking to boost their outfield depth, the New York Yankees acquired Dustin Ackley from the Seattle Mariners.
The Mariners officially announced the deal on Twitter:
Ackley responded to news of the trade, saying it was "crazy" but that he was "excited for what the future has to bring," per MLB.com's Greg Johns.
Even though Ackley has spent virtually all of his time this season in the outfield, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News speculated this could be the first move in which the Yankees give him time on the infield:
Joel Sherman of the New York Post also added that the Yankees may view Ackley as a guy who needs a change of scenery at this point in his career.
