Derek Jeter’s Most Recent Try at 3,000 Hits Rained Out; Yankee Fans out of Money

New York Yankees game versus the Tampa Bay Rays was rained out, meaning Derek Jeter's pursuit of 3,000 hits will be postponed until the weekend.  While the Yankees would like to have Jeter reach 3,000 hits as soon as possible, fans with tickets to Friday's game may be even more upset with Mother Nature. 

Tickets for the Rays-Yankees series were in high demand as ticket prices on the secondary market averaged more than twice the tickets face value.  According to the secondary ticket retailer StubHub, the least expensive price for a ticket for Friday evening was $87 for an outfield grandstand ticket.  That ticket has a face value of $23 normally.
