Derek Jeter Will Not Attend Yankees’ 2015 Home Opener vs. Blue Jays

class="ui-droppable">Derek Jeter is looking to make a complete break from the New York Yankees in retirement. The legendary shortstop confirmed that he won't be in attendance at Yankee Stadium when the Bronx Bombers open their 2015 MLB season against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 6.   

"I think actually I'll be out of the country," Jeter revealed Saturday on SiriusXM Radio, via MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. "I need to get away. I've been playing this game professionally for parts of 23 seasons, so I need to get away from it."

Jeter, 40, retired after playing 20 seasons with the Yankees from 1995 to 2014, playing more games and recording more hits than any other player in franchise history, according to Baseball-Reference.
