A Severe Injury to Hiroki Kuroda Would Ruin the New York Yankees’ Season

class="ui-droppable">New York Yankees right-hander Hiroki Kuroda will miss his next scheduled start on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles due to hip flexor soreness in his left hip, reports Andy McCullough of the Star-Ledger.

Kuroda underwent an MRI, and the results came back "clean," according to Joe Girardi (via McCullough). But Kuroda will be re-examined after the conclusion of the current four-game set against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.

The fact that Kuroda will have to be re-evaluated is simply a precautionary measure, but it's certainly something that should worry the Yankees. Simple soreness shouldn't need to be re-evaluated a few days after receiving "clean" results from an MRI. Either Girardi is just saying Kuroda is fine, ...
