they get ready to enter the postseason looking for their 28th World Series title, the New York Yankees have released their 25-man roster for the 2012 American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles.
Not that there were many surprises expected, but it looks about the way everyone would have predicted. The one slight shocker is the inclusion of Brett Gardner, who has only played in 16 games this season due to an elbow injury.
But even Gardner was able to get a couple of at-bats in the last series of the year against Boston and has been used as a pinch-runner in spots, so it's not like this came out of nowhere.
