Joba Chamberlain: Chamberlain Has Surgery on Dislocated Ankle

Chamberlain suffered an "open dislocation" while jumping on a trampoline-type object with his son, tweets Jack Curry of the YES Network.

While playing with his son on Thursday, Chamberlain rolled his ankle and dislocated it. He was taken to the hospital and had surgery to fix the damage.

According to Curry's tweets, Brian Cashman called it a significant injury.

It's likely that Chamberlain will spend several days in the hospital, which is a huge setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Already expected to miss 9-12 months, Chamberlain may not be back until after the All-Star break.
