Derek Jeter Becomes 28th Player to Reach 3,000 Hits

it or not, the most storied franchise in Major League Baseball just welcomed their first member to the 3,000 hits club.

The 12-time All-Star became just the second player in history to reach the big 3,000 via a home run.

The Yankees' captain was already one of the most accomplished players in the MLB, but this just adds to his resume, solidifying his spot in the Hall of Fame.

The 5-time World Series champion and 2000 World Series MVP received a standing ovation from a sell-out Yankee Stadium crowd and was greeted by the entire team as he crossed home plate.

The home run came on a 3-2 pitch from pitcher David Price and there was not an empty seat in the house after it left the bat.
