Chris Capuano to Yankees: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

class="ui-droppable">The New York Yankees have brought back veteran pitcher Chris Capuano on a one-year contract worth $5 million.

Jack Curry of the YES Network passed along word of the deal:



New York later confirmed the move via their Twitter account:

The Yankees acquired Capuano from the Colorado Rockies ahead of the July trade deadline to bolster their rotation. He started 12 games down the stretch, going 2-3 with a 4.25 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. He struck out 55 batters in 65.2 innings.

Those numbers are right in line with his career marks (4.28 ERA and 1.34 WHIP). While the left-hander doesn't represent a major signing, he brings versatility to the staff for a reasonable price.
