The Yankees have signed Tim Redding to a minor league contract. Redding, 32, who was pitching for the Colorado Rockies's Triple-A affiliate but was released yesterday morning. So far this season for Colorado Springs he is 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA with 7.6 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 in 25 innings. He's now headed to Scranton. This is obviously a depth move for [...]

Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays—Oh My! The »

Championships are not won or lost in May, but if the Minnesota Twins plan on making a serious playoff run and contend for the World Series this year, the next seven games could tell us plenty. Javier Vazquez Finally Has Strong Start, Loses Anyway »

Javier Vazquez got his first quality start of the season and it was a good one, as he held the Tigers to just two runs and five hits, all singles, but still got the loss because he’s Javier Vazquez the offense was shutdown by Rick Porcello. Don’t get me wrong, this was not a lights-out dominant start by Vazquez, but typically if you [...]

Javier Vazquez Isn’t Great, but Maybe Good »

Javier Vazquez didn't exactly win his most recent start against the Detroit Tigers. However, he pitched a seven-inning quality start, giving up only two runs in the sixth for the wrong end of a 2-0 tally. It's as well as he has pitched all season. That's including his nominally victorious 5.1-inning, three-run effort against the light-hitting [...]

Yankees Waste Solid Outing From Vazquez and Lose Game »

Javier Vazquez took the mound in game one of today's double header against the Detroit Tigers. The veteran righty has been having a terrible season so far.
